Agave Salmina ‘Butterfingers’ New To The UK
This particular clone of a. salmina has upright glossy green leaves with a wavy margin and an eye catching buttery creamy-yellow edge. Of the very few variegated forms of a.salmina this is undoubtedly the best in terms of richness of colour and will not disappoint. Butterfingers is reportedly hardy to -10C and will grow to 1.5m wide by 1m tall over time and has great potential for outside planting in the UK. Although it would also make a fine potted specimen for a patio or gravel garden. The plants for sale are two years old and between 8 & 14cm across and are well rooted.

Agave Ovatifolia ‘Frosty Blue’ New To The UK
Agave ovatifolia 'Frosty Blue' This new Cistus introduction recently named by Greg Starr was first discovered by Lynn Lowrey in northeastern Mexico around 30 years ago. This agave might be one of the largest cold hardy agaves and will tolerate at least -14C and it can eventually grow up to 2 to 3m tall by 1.5 to 2m wide. Frosty Blue has a rounded rosette of short wide powder pale blue aquamarine leaves that are distinctively cupped with small teeth along their margins and a 3cm long dark grey terminal spine.The colouration of the plant changes and becomes more blue/ aquamarine as the plant matures. The plant for sale are 2 years old between 8 & 12cm across and well rooted.

Agave Americana ‘Opal’.
This particular clone of a. americana makes a large, upright clump of sharp-spined, blue-grey foliage with an attractive creamy-yellow edge. Agave Opal is form selected for it's hardiness which is far greater than the standard variegated americana with plants reportedly surviving temperatures as low as -12C. Opal will grow to 1m wide by 1.5m tall over time. I'm excited about this introduction as it promises to be unique as it will be one of the very few variegates capable of tolerating UK conditions outdoors. Plants are 2 years old well rooted and between 8 to 12cm across.




Agave ‘Royal Spine’. New
Agave 'Royal Spine' (Agave macroacantha x victoriae-reginae) This plant is a small to medium sized and very symmetrical. Grows 30cm tall by 50 cm wide. The thick green leaves have lovely dark spineless margins that end in equally dark terminal spines. Has been known to tolerate -10c or less making an ideal potted specimen for the cold greenhouse or conservatory. The plants for sale are 18 months old, well rooted and between 5 to 10cm across

Agave ‘Baccarat’. New
This stunning selection of Agave Montana was made on a 1997 Yucca Do trip to Nuevo Leon Province in Mexico. Baccarat features a 75cm x 50cm clump of broad, blue-green leaves with a beautiful silver bud imprint on the back of the leaf, reminiscent of the crystal. This agave is hardy down to -15c and its native habitat is high altitude pine forests that suffer rain and snow so in a well drained sunny position this plant should be UK hardy. The plants for sale are 18 months old, well rooted and between 4 to 8cm across.
