New Introduction

Agave ‘Red Margin’  New

This rare hybrid of Agave filifera x shawii  develops a thin reddish margin with exposure to light and age. As a small to medium sized agave, its 20cm medium green blue leaves are slightly concave and 40mm wide. With this plant's nice form, it makes for a great landscape or container plant. Reportedly hardy to -6c.

The picture right shows a typical young Red Margin measuring 12 cm across. As you can see the ruby red margin is forming on this plant which highlights the small white teeth.

This is a most unusual agave and I’ve not seen anything like this being offered for sale before. I’m sure Red Margin  will become popular with collectors for its unique qualities.
